BaiTuLong.com exists because Bai Tu Long Bay deserves more than a line in a Ha Long brochure. It is an independent travel guide covering Bai Tu Long, its floating villages and caves, the Van Don islands and the routes that connect them from Hanoi — written to be genuinely useful before you go and while you are there.
What we cover
- How to reach the bay from Hanoi and beyond, with real journey times and prices.
- Which cruises and tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
- What to see — Vung Vieng, Thien Canh Son, Quan Lan, Co To and Ha Long’s great sights.
- Where to sleep, on the water and on land.
- When to come, including an honest take on typhoon season.
How we research
Prices, routes and journey times are checked against operators, transport companies and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide, and hotel data from Trip.com. Where a figure moves around — fuel-driven transfer prices, boat timetables to the islands — we give a range and say so, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.
Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a day trip is rushed, when a “luxury” cruise is not, and when the cheaper option is the better one.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Timetables change, boats are renamed, hotels change hands. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us via the contact page.
